The Ceylon Gate Special Tour in all its splendour starts off with an equally grand welcome after which the guests would be able to have a refreshing tour around Galle and then would be headed to a luxrious hotel for some much needed rest. The journey is adventurously life changing that the second day starts with visiting Yala, the wildlife National Park and on to visiting world Heritage rain forests, white water rafting down heart stopping falls, highland train rides, visiting the temple of the Tooth Relic, hiking up the ever beautiful Horton Plains, going on catamaran rides, tanning on the beach and visiting the ancient city of Anuradhapura with a final day to relax and ponder over the magical moments of the days gone by before safely departing Colombo to go back home on a heavy hearted but contented note.

  • Day 1 AIR PORT | GALLE
    ARRIVAL AT GALLE

    You are welcomed by the representative of Ceylon Gate Travels who will take care of your exhaustion after a long flight and will arrange things for you to unwind in a hotel peacefully, for a fresh start of your vacation.

    VISIT GALLE

    Another world Heritage Site that combines European and Asian architecture, created by the Portuguese, and developed by the Dutch and British between 15 and 19 AD. Today, it is a living historical, archaeological, and architectural legacy. In Galle, you will have the option of going on a cycling excursion.

  • Day 2 GALLE | YALA
    VISIT NATIONAL PARK

    The second largest national park in Sri Lanka covering 979 square Km of which consist of 5 blocks that contain thorny forests, grasslands, sandy beach, dry and moist monsoon forests and marine wetlands. You are so lucky to have the opportunity to observe 7 endemic birds out of 215 bird species that are found in this park. ashy-headed babbler (Garrulax cinereifrons), Sri Lanka white-headed starling (Sturnus senex), Sri Lanka wood pigeon (Columba torringtoni), green-billed Coucal (Centropus chlororrhynchus) and Sri Lanka broad-billed roller (Eurystomus orientalis irisi). It does play an important role in protecting Sri Lankan Leopard (Panthera pardus), the highest density in the world, endemic purple-faced Langur (Presbytis senex), elephants, sloth bear, wild water buffalo and alligators.

  • Day 3 YALA | SIGIRIYA
    VISIT SINHARAJA RAIN FOREST BIRD WATCHING

    Today you are in a primary tropical lowland rain forest in an altitude of 300-1170 meters, covering 6092 he, It is a world heritage site declared by UNESCO April 1978. More than 55% of trees are endemic and rare, with endemic birds, wildlife, and butterflies as well as different kinds of amphibians, reptiles and insects. Out of 830 endemic species, of which trees, woody climbers, and rare species were recorded here. High Faunal endemism is with about 20 birds are recorded. They are Sri Lanka junglefowl, , brown-capped babbler, crimson-fronted barbet, blue-tailed bee-eater ,Sri Lanka wood pigeon, black-capped bulbul and Sri Lanka grey hornbill . The endangered and threatened species are found in the reserve, for your observation.

  • Day 4 SINHARAJA | KITULGALA
    WHITE WATER RAFTING

    Thrilling and exciting adventure of sailing, a recreational activity that you will admire most on a raft. It is with different options of duration and rapids, however you are provided with proper out fit with a guarantee of your safety. Unless you are advised not to participate in such activities by physician.

  • Day 5 KITULGALA | NUWARAELIYA
    TRAIN RIDE

    One of the most magnificent train rides in the world, covering 65 kilometres and taking approximately 3 hours. In the foggy chilly air, you may see some beautiful cascades, waterfalls, luxuriant tea plantations, and tea pickers on mountain peaks.

  • Day 6 NUWARAELIYA | HORTAN PLAINS
    HALF DAY ESCURTION HORTONPLAINS / EVENIG LEISUREE

    Something for everyone! This is a 9.5 km walk of approximately 3 hours to complete depending on how long you would spend on each stop. The worlds end is a stunning view point in Sri Lanka on a height of 2100-2300 m from mean sea level, declared a world heritage site in 2006. The climate is fluctuating during the day from 27 c to 5 c with sudden misty and rainy weather! After a relaxed walk on the maintained pathways, having the great opportunity to watch some birds and the misty Bakers fall on your way! Sambar deer, Toque macaques, Purple faced langur, Wild boar; Strip necked mongoose, Spotted chevrotain, Giant squirrels, Fishing cat and one of the world’s most endangered primates, the Red slender loris. Sri Lanka containing 21 endemic bird species such as Sri Lanka Superfowl, Sri Lanka Junglefowl, Yellow-fronted barbet, Orange-billed babbler, Sri Lanka bush warbler and Sri Lanka Whistling thrush, with four species namely the Sri Lanka Magpie, Dull-blue flycatcher, Sri Lanka White-eye, and Sri Lanka Wood pigeon which occur only in Horton Plains. There are also a variety of migrant birds such as the Alpine swift, Crested serpent eagle, Mountain-hawk eagle, and Black-winged kite. Amongst the reptile species are the Rhino horn lizard, the Common rough sided snake and rat snake.

  • Day 7 NUWARAELIYA | KANDY
    TEA PLANTATION AND FACTORY VISIT

    The best Ceylon tea in a lush green mountain site, with an experience of tea plucking by yourself. Then a nice fresh cup of tea or tea-coffee mix

    TOOTH RELIC TEMPLE

    The most important temple for the Buddhist all over the world, mainly for the left canine tooth of Buddha is placed inside a seventh golden casket! Further you can experience the pilgrims who come in white dress and the way of worship! It is a great cultural experience of its kind.

  • Day 8 KANDY
    BOTANICAL GARDEN VISIT LEISURE

    Since 1371, the ancient kings have maintained a historical pleasure garden, which was eventually converted to a Royal Botanical Garden in 1843. Palm trees, cactus, orchids, and medicinal plants are among the nearly 4000 plant species found there. This garden is home to Alexandrian parakeets, Indian pittas, Ceylon small barbets, and common hawk cuckoos for the view of lucky guests like you.

  • Day 9 KANDY | DAMBULLA | SIGIRIYA
    SPICE GARDEN

    Sri Lanka is known for its finest cinnamon and other spices, and here you can enjoy a tour of the garden where you will be able to touch and feel the plants that produce them. You will be astounded to learn about the therapeutic capabilities of common cooking and treatment components.

  • Day 10 SIGIRIYA | POLONNARUWA | MINNERIYA | SIGIRIYA
    POLONNARUWA ANCIANT CITY

    During the day, you will get the opportunity to explore medieval capital of Sri Lanka- Pollonnaruwa. Have you ever heard of an Ocean inside the country? Then you are there in a reservoir built in the 11 century which is called Ocean of the great king Parakaramabahu! then you can visit the ancient site on a guided cycle ride, which takes approximately 2 to 3 hours.

    MINNERIYA

    Do you love, enjoying the elephant watching? the largest mammal on earth! Safari jeep will take you into the wilderness of Minneriya national park, during the month of August ‘The Great Gathering of Elephants is a lifetime experience! Best opportunity to observe elephant behavior, in 40 to 100 elephants in different locations of the park.

  • Day 11 SIGIRIYA | TRINCOMALEE
    SIGIRIYA ROCK

    Do you like to have a walk into a Palace on a rock! Where there is a water garden, frescos, and a mirror wall! Built in the 4 century AD, another world heritage site declared by UNESCO in the year 1982.

  • Day 12 TRINCOMALEE

    This is a peninsula in the northeast coast of Sri Lanka with the 5th natural deep harbor in the world! Other attractions are, Fort Frederick- built by the Portuguese in the 17th century, the grand Kaneswaran Temple complex that contains ornate shrines and massive statue of god shiva on Swami Rock cliff.   • Day 13 TRINCOMALEE
    PIGEON ISLAND

    You are in a marine national park full of rock pigeon colony. 1km away from Nilaveli beach in the northeast province. Snorkeling among coral reef is an amazing experience in the sea! Lucky you would get the chance to observe these amazing marine creatures!

  • Day 14 TRINCO | ANURADHAPURA | NEGOMBO
    VISIT ANURADHAPURA ANCIANT CITY

    You have a great opportunity to visit the oldest recorded tree in the world! Ficus religiosa, in the first ancient capital city of Sri Lanka, which is a world heritage site.

    NEGOMBO LEISURE

    Negombo is an old main city with a beach, harbor, and a lagoon, that has old Dutch port, with a population of over 1500000. A mix of different religions such as Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, and Muslims.
